I graduated from the University of Baja California – Tijuana (Mexico) with a degree in Electronic Engineer in 2008. In 2010, I began a Master in Science with specialization in Optics in the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE, Mexico) as well as the PhD.
In 2016, I finished my PhD in Optics and presented a thesis that consisted in the study of an astronomical telescope that uses an aspheric surface and an image processing technique to extend the depth of field and compensate on-axis aberrations, this technique is called Wave-front Coding. During this project, I collaborated with the National University of Mexico (UNAM- Astronomy Institute) and had the opportunity to work with the 2.1-m telescope’s active cell in the San Pedro Mártir Observatory. The main topics involved in this project were: optical design, aspherical surfaces, image formation, deconvolution techniques, and wave-front sensing.
Finally, I spend a short period in the University of Morelos (UAEM-CIICAp, Mexico) as a postdoc doing research in wave-front sensing methods and adaptive optics.

De Tijuana (México), mismo lugar donde después obtuviera el título de Ingeniero en Electrónica en la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (2008), me encuentro ahora en Santiago (Chile) en la Universidad Andrés Bello enfocado en el área de instrumentación astronómica.
En el año 2010 comencé la maestría en Óptica en el Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE, México), iniciando una colaboración con el Instituto de Astronomía de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (IA-UNAM, México) por medio de mi asesor de tesis que se mantendría hasta la fecha. Desde finales de la maestría y comienzo del doctorado (2012) es que he estado trabajando en el área de Instrumentación Astronómica.
Mi trabajo de tesis doctoral consistió en introducir un nuevo concepto que surgió en la microscopía óptica para implementarlo en un telescopio astronómico. Este concepto consiste en incrementar la profundidad de campo y compensar las aberraciones en eje por medio de utilizar un elemento óptico asférico en el instrumento combinado con procesamiento de imágenes. El trabajo me permitió trabajar en técnicas de deconvolución, diseño óptico, sensado y reconstrucción del frente de onda, superficies asféricas, entre otras cosas. Finalmente obtuve mi grado el año 2016, y posteriormente continué trabajando en métodos de sensado del frente de onda y óptica adaptativa como posdoctorado en la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM-CIICAp, México) antes de integrarme a mi actual grupo de trabajo.
