My name is Ignacio Reyes and I am M.Sc. student (electrical engineering) at Universidad de Chile. I started studying engineering at U. de Chile in 2011, choosing electrical engineering as my mayor.

During 2013 I worked in Eolian IV, a solar car project at U. de Chile, being part of the solar cells team. In 2014 I started working at the Computational Intelligence Laboratory of U. de Chile with prof. Pablo Estévez.

I have done research in Deep Learning, a branch of Machine Learning which is focused on the study of mathematical models with deep architectures. I am currently using Deep Learning techniques for automatic transient event detection in Astronomy, in particular supernovae detection with convolutional neural networks.

Mi nombre es Ignacio Reyes, soy estudiante de Magister en Ing. Eléctrica en la Universidad de Chile. Entré a Ingeniería en la Univ. de Chile el 2011, siguiendo posteriormente la especialidad de Ing. Eléctrica.

Durante el 2013 trabajé en el proyecto del vehículo solar Eolian IV de la universidad, particularmente en el equipo encargado de las celdas fotovoltaicas del automóvil. Luego el 2014 comencé a trabajar en el Laboratorio de Inteligencia Computacional de la U. de Chile con el prof. Pablo Estévez.

Allí comencé estudiando acerca de Deep Learning, un área del aprendizaje de máquinas enfocada al uso de modelos con arquitecturas profundas, usualmente redes neuronales de muchas capas. Actualmente trabajo usando técnicas de Deep Learning para la detección automática de eventos transientes en Astronomía, en particular detección de supernovas con redes neuronales convolucionales.
