Currently an Associate Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile since 2009. Received PhD from University of Virginia with a pre-doc at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory NRAO) in Charlottesville, VA. Spent several years at Penn State University, Cambridge University, and Columbia University as a postdoctoral researcher.
Research interests
Franz’s research interests include investigation of deep blank-field surveys (radio through X-ray) to study AGN demographics, the co-eval feeding and evolution of galaxies and super-massive black holes, structure formation, and the study and characterization of nearby supernovae, high-mass X-ray binaries, and other transients.
