My background is Mathematical Civil Engineering from Universidad de Chile (1990) and I obtained a Ph.D. in Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University (1995), Pittsburgh, USA.
My doctoral dissertation focused on the representation of long-memory processes in terms of state space systems.
I have published two Wiley books, «Long-Memory Time Series: Theory and Methods» (2007) and «Time Series Analysis» (2016).
I work in the Department of Statistics, PUC.
Research Interests
My main research interest is time series and prediction methodologies with applications to Astronomy and other fields such as Paleoclimatology, Hydrology, etc.

Estudie Ingenieria Civil Matematica en la Universidad de Chile (1990) y obtuve un doctorado en Estadistica en la Universidad Carnegie Mellon en Pittsburgh, EE.UU (1995).
Mi tesis doctoral se focalizo en la representacion de procesos de larga memoria por medio de sistemas de espacio de estado.
He publicado dos libros Wiley, «Long-Memory Time Series: Theory and Methods» (2007) y «Time Series Analysis» (2016).
Trabajo en el Departamento de Estadistica de la PUC.
Áreas de Interés
Series de tiempo y metodologías de predicción con aplicaciones a la Astronomía y a otros campos como la Paleoclimatología, Hidrología, etc.
