I was born in a southern city of this country called Puerto Montt where I lived for 18 years until I moved to Santiago to start my undergrad studies in Astronomy at PUC, where I also obtained my PhD degree.

My work mostly focuses on the detection and characterization of extrasolar planets. I’m a collaborator of the HATSouth survey, which is the first global network of telescopes designed for the discovery of transiting extrasolar planets. I’m also involved in the development of astronomical instrumentation for studying other transient phenomena, like the CHAT telescope and the HATPI survey.

Research interest

  • Detection of Extrasolar Planets
  • Characterization of Extrasolar Planets
  • Estimation of Stellar Parameters
  • Eclipsing Binaries
  • High Resolution Spectroscopy
  • Astronomical Instrumentation
