[:en]After the two first editions and more than 70,000 views, The Millennium Institute of astrophysics MAS launches the third chapter of this series of short videos about astronomy created by renowned national illustrator, Guillermo “Guillo” Bastías.
The first two animated short videos of astronomy, also known as ‘animates’, had great success on social media; these were developed by MAS in collaboration with renowned Chilean illustrator Guillo. “A Brief Story about Astronomical Observation” and “From the Big Bang to Humankind” engaged the audience teaching astronomical content in an easy and playful way.
During March, and as part of the Astronomy Day in Chile, MAS is launching the third chapter of this series dedicated to our home in the Universe. “A Journey Through the Milky Way” will allow the audience to learn more about the main components of our galaxy, its characteristics and recent researches.
Just like the previous chapters, “A Journey Through the Milky Way” gathered an important group of artists that offered their talent to work on science. Apart from Guillo, the animates had the participation of renowned musicians like Pablo Ilabaca and Camilo Salinas from Melody Factory and the narrator, Jorge Lillo. In addition, the scientific advice was provided by MAS Director, Manuela Zoccali, and MAS astronomers, Sergio Vásquez, Álvaro Arriagada, Cristián Cortés, Rodrigo Contreras and Juan Carlos Beamín. This project is financed by the ESO – Chile Joint Committee Fund.
This animate is now available on MAS’ social media and at www.astrofisicamas.cl. During the following months is expected the next chapter dedicated to the study of exoplanets.

Con más de 70.000 visualizaciones con las primeras dos entregas, el Instituto Milenio de Astrofísica MAS pone a disposición el tercer capítulo de la serie de cortos de astronomía realizados en colaboración con el destacado ilustrador nacional Guillermo “Guillo” Bastías.
Gran éxito en redes sociales tuvieron los primeros dos cortos de astronomía o animates realizado por el MAS con la colaboración con el destacado ilustrador chileno Guillo Bastías. “Breve Historia de la Observación Astronómica” y “Desde el Big Bang a la Humanidad” lograron encantar al público con contenido astronómico contado de manera sencilla y lúdica.
Este marzo, y en el marco del Día de la Astronomía en Chile, MAS lanza una tercera entrega de la serie, dedicado a nuestro hogar en el Cosmos. “Un Viaje por la Vía Láctea, permitirá el espectador conocer los principales componentes de nuestra galaxia, sus características y estudios recientes.
Tal como la vez anterior “Un Viaje por la Vía Láctea” reunió a un importante grupo de artistas, que pusieron su talento al servicio de la ciencia, pues además de Guillo, el corto cuenta con la música de los destacados Pablo Ilabaca y Camilo Salinas de Melody Factory y la locución de Jorge Lillo. Asimismo, con la asesoría científica de la directora del MAS Manuela Zoccali y los astrónomos Sergio Vásquez, Álvaro Arriagada, Cristián Cortés, Rodrigo Contreras y Juan Carlos Beamín. Además cuenta con el financiamiento del Fondo del Comité Mixto ESO – Gobierno de Chile.
El corto ya está disponible en las redes sociales del MAS y su página web www.astrofisicamas.cl. Se espera en los próximos meses el lanzamiento del cuarto capítulo, dedicado al estudio de Exoplanetas.
