When I was studying engineering at UTFSM, I discovered astronomy through astrophysics.

I moved to Universidad de Chile to complete my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Science with a major in Astronomy, working mainly on type II supernovae (SNe) and their capability of delivering cosmological distances.

I obtained my Ph.D. in 2013 from the Technical University Munich. The thesis was developed at the Max-Planck-Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, where I studied SNe that have been found in association with gamma-ray bursts (GRBs).

I worked at the Universidad Andrés Bello within the MAS SN group on optical and near-infrared spectroscopy and photometry of stripped-envelope SNe.

Currently, I’m working at the Universidad de Atacama.

For a couple of years, I have also been analyzing data from SNe and their associated GRBs in search of correlations.
